About I-43
From Beloit, WI (I-39/I-90) to Green Bay, WI (I-41)
Interstate 43 is a north-south route entirely within Wisconsin, running about 192 miles from Beloit at the Illinois state line north through Milwaukee and along the Lake Michigan shore to Green Bay. The southern portion connects Beloit and Janesville with the Milwaukee metropolitan area, while the northern portion follows the lakeshore through Sheboygan and Manitowoc. The route ties together the southeastern corner of the state with the eastern Lake Michigan coast.
Through Milwaukee the route passes near the downtown area and crosses the major freeway interchanges of the city, including connections to I-94 and I-794. North of Milwaukee it hugs the Lake Michigan shoreline, serving smaller industrial and port cities before reaching Green Bay, where it ends at I-41. The corridor combines metropolitan commuter traffic in the Milwaukee area with longer-distance travel along the coast.
