About I-30
From Fort Worth, TX (I-20/I-35W) to North Little Rock, AR (I-40)
Interstate 30 is a route of about 367 miles running from Fort Worth, Texas, northeast to North Little Rock, Arkansas. It connects the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex with central Arkansas, crossing the Texarkana area on the Texas-Arkansas state line along the way. The route serves as a key diagonal link between two major Interstate hubs.
From its western end at I-35W in Fort Worth, the route runs east through Arlington and Dallas, forming a heavily traveled urban corridor across the metroplex. East of Dallas it continues through rural northeast Texas to Texarkana, then crosses southwestern Arkansas through Hope and Arkadelphia before ending at I-40 in North Little Rock.

History
I-30 was part of the Interstate plan approved in 1957 and was built through the 1960s, with its urban segments through Dallas and Fort Worth becoming some of the busiest in Texas. The route broadly follows the older US 67 and US 80 corridors between the metroplex and Little Rock.
The Dallas-Fort Worth segment has been repeatedly widened and reconstructed, including major work on the approaches to downtown Dallas, as traffic across the metroplex grew.
