About I-14
Also known as Central Texas Corridor.
From Copperas Cove, TX (US 190) to Belton, TX (I-35)
Interstate 14 is a new and short east-west route in central Texas, currently signed for about 25 miles between Copperas Cove and Belton. It runs through the Killeen and Fort Cavazos area, connecting that military region to Interstate 35 at its eastern end near Belton. The signed segment was built along existing U.S. Route 190.
The route is the initial piece of a much larger planned Central Texas Corridor that is intended to extend eastward across the state over time. As it stands, it is a relatively brief freeway serving the cities clustered around the large Army installation in the area, with terrain typical of the central Texas hill margin.

History
Interstate 14 was designated in 2017, with its first segment established along the existing U.S. 190 freeway in the Killeen and Fort Cavazos region. The number was chosen as part of a congressional plan for a Central Texas Corridor connecting points across the state.
The current mileage is only the beginning of the planned route, and additional segments to the east have been studied and proposed for future construction.
